Pull in for an early lunch. It was easy to get a table. The staff were friendly and polite. The food was good. The ribs were a little dry, the beef short rib delicious. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're on bray beach front
The mussels at Martello were not the best I’ve ever had, but still definitely worth trying. I think they might have been even better with a bit of lemon on the side. Overall, a nice spot with a lovely seaside atmosphere.
Food safety issue - We had a meal with our family today. My children asked for a bottle of vinegar to put on their fries. After using it, we discovered two dead flies inside the vinegar bottle.
We immediately raised our concern with the waitress, who simply asked, "What would you like us to do? Replace the vinegar bottle?" We asked to speak to the manager instead.
The manager said she didn't know what had happened and suggested that the flies might have fallen into the bottle while we were eating, which is simply not credible given that they were inside the vinegar. She then became defensive and raised her voice rather than addressing the food safety concern professionally.
Eventually, she offered to make our meal complimentary, but the issue was never the cost of the meal. It was the complete lack of concern for food safety, accountability, or even a sincere apology.
Finding insects inside a condiment bottle that is served to customers is unacceptable. We left extremely disappointed by both the hygiene standards and the way the situation was handled
